Fire Safe International is a company that has been trading in the UK since 1993. Since inception the company goal was to independently provide, high quality fire and safety products and services and with a speciality in training for high risk activities, it very quickly established as an organisation that works closely with its clients to assess their needs and then provide products and services that meet that need, rather than just supplying “off the shelf solutions”. By maintaining our independence but working with a range of manufacturers we source products for the client, we don’t just sell what we happen to have on the shelf. The goal has always been to provide a total solution, so where a client needs a respirator, we will review or conduct their risk assessment and help ensure a comprehensive RPE programme is in place, including training, fit testing and product maintenance. Our clients don’t want respirators, they want the confidence that they have adequate and suitable protection.
This approach is followed in all areas of the business and as one of the very first companies that provided commercial fit testing services in the UK, their expertise and knowledge in this area is second to none. It is for these reasons, when AccuTEC-IHS was looking for a partner to support them in the UK and Europe, they chose Fire Safe International. If you need a respirator fit test, or fit test device, what you really need is the confidence that the respirator fits the wearer; AccuFIT and Fire Safe International give you that confidence.
Following a restructure of the supply chain in 2016, a group of manufacturers representatives who had no desire to work for a large impersonal corporation decided to get together and shake up the industry by introducing a competing instrument to the Portacount TM. They approached a Japanese electronics manufacturer “Kanomax” who coincidentally had recently reengineered their CNC engine (Condensing Nuclei Counter). This new alliance, which includes one of the originators of the very first commercially produced RFT, became AccuTEC-IHS and together they co-designed a new CNC based Respirator Fit Tester (RFT), AccuFIT 9000 was born and became the newest, fastest RFT available. In October 2019 the AccuFIT 9000 achieved CE approval and the first of these new devices arrived in the UK. By June 2020 an additional product was added to the range, the AccuFIT PRO, which includes a Differential Mobility Classifier (DMC) which enables more accurate testing of masks with a lower efficiency filter, such as FFP1 & FFP2 (or N95). These instruments, together with their supporting software, which includes a data conversion utility programme, now offer a comprehensive solution to dynamically field testing respirator mask fit using proven and respected technology which yields best correlation to the “Gold Standard” DOP method of testing developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Introducing AccuFIT Respirator Fit Tester (RFT):
At last, there is now an alternative! For nearly 20 years, the only practical way you could dynamically test the fit and performance of your respirator was by using the only commercially respirator fit tester (RFT) – Now there is AccuFIT – AccuFIT takes the proven ambient aerosol method of fit testing to the next level. Latest technology, faster processer, on board colour TFT screen, WiFi enabled with the flexibility to collect fit test data the way you want to; there is even a data conversion utility programme so you can convert any existing data you have and access it using the same software. AccuFIT 9000 & AccuFIT 9000 PRO give you the flexibility, reliability and speed to test ALL types of face mask and give you the confidence that your mask is protecting you.
